Mandira jumped from a bridge in SA !

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

It is said that it doesn't require much time for the circumstances to change in an individual's life. Same happened with Mandira Bedi. She was there in South Africa for the IPL Season 2 as a host of Extra Innings Show for Set Max Channel, broadcasting IPL 2009. Everything was going fine but God only knows what made her to jump from a 200 mtrs high bridge.

Mandira Bedi, who started her career as television actress and rose to fame from a television soap 'Shanti', came to spotlight as the first women cricket commentator during Cricket World Cup 2003. After that there was no looking back for this glamorous television presenter, who remained in news for her interesting and controversial dressing senses. She also remained in news for sporting 'Ek Omkar' or 'God is One' tattoo in Gurmukhi on her bare back which hurted Sikh sentiments. In an another incident she was surrounded by controversies for dishonouring the Indian Flag, when she flaunted a saree with India's national flag below her knees.

Despite various controversies surrounding her, she always remained in highlights for one or the other reason and above all for her hot looks. Where spectators were used to look her in sarees, Mandira changed herself completely this IPL season with a new Bob Cut and her strapless dress, compelling her sarees to confine in wardrobes. But nothing can't be done as a human being can change everything, except his fate.

Worried ? Don't take it otherwise. I was just kidding. Now let me end this controversy here only and come to the point.

Don't take Mandira Bedi just by her looks or cricket commentary. She is a daring lady, which was proved when she tried her hands in Bungee Jumping in South Africa by jumping from a height of 200 metres from the highest bridge in the country.

Not only this, she also enjoyed sand-boarding on African sands taking time out of her busy schedule. She was also seen trying a round of Golf there with cricketers like Glenn McGrath and AB DeVilliers.

Who knows you may soon see her giving commentary in the Golf Greens as said earlier that circumstances don't need much time to change !

Amitabh indulges in his gambling reminiscence !

Friday, May 15, 2009

Recent visit of Big B to Macau reminded him of his gambling days. But do you know what made to bring back his nostalgic memories ? It's none other than 'Gondola'. Can you imagine of Amitabh being a great gambler in Venice, Italy, that too way back in 1970s ?

You may be wondering, what nonsense I am talking about. So let me express it this way. Mr Bachchan made a recent trip to Macau, China for the first time, to finalise it as the host for the upcoming International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) 2009 weekend. It is pertinent to mention here that Amitabh is the Brand Ambassador of IIFA and three days IIFA Awards event is scheduled to be held at Macau from 11th to 13th June.

So Mr Bachchan amid his visit did not want to fail to hit an opportunity of enjoying Gondola ride in the ravishing city of Macau after an interlude of thirty years. This brought back his cherishable memories of Gondola ride at Venice, Italy where he visited in 1979 for the shooting of a Bollywood movie 'The Great Gambler'.

And imagine where the great gambler put up in Macau. It's Venetian Macao Resort-Hotel, which boasts of having one of the biggest casinos in the world. But it's not over. He also announced that Venetian Macao Resort-Hotel will play as the host for the IIFA Awards 2009.

Though this is the 10th edition of IIFA, Bollywood celebrities have travelled several enchanting destinations across the globe like Singapore, Thailand, South Africa, Britain and Bangkok to promote Indian cinema. Now this is the turn for Macau.

Let's see how smartly the host gambles with Bollywood !

MF Hussain all set to register an unbreakable world record in marathon !

Monday, May 11, 2009

Is it his passion for the horses which motivates him to keep on running ? Or is he still finding the mirage getting away from his reach as he completes more distance ? After covering a distance of 94, he is still running like a derby horse. Don't you agree with me ?

Won't you call him a marathon runner, who started his race from India, went to Dubai, leaving it behind for Italy while proceeding further to Washington enroute New York and God knows what is his finishing point ?

Yes, I am talking about the endurance of 'Picasso of India' in the field of painting marathon, where his brush does not want to take a little rest even at the age of 94.

I have heard that everyone bows to the rising sun but he is a sun who commands more respect while setting. Let me inform you that Sheikh of Abu Dhabi is such a big fan of this gentleman that he has decided of opening a museum there on his works.

You know what he is doing at present ? He is busy on the canvas in painting a series on Indian mythology for the richest Indian Lakshmi Niwas Mittal and his brother. Still in this age he has got the capacity of juggling multiple tasks at the same time and one can also find his brush painting series for the Sheikh of Qatar and Sheikh of Abu Dhabi.

Though he may have attracted disrespect in the heart of Indians because of some of his objectionable paintings but we should not forget that he is still India's tour de force of art. Some of the fundamentalists in India have even priced his head for 50 lakh rupees and his hand for 11 lakhs. How ridiculous it is ? I mean, how can you fix the price of such a great genius, that too in lakhs, whose single series of paintings even fetch him more than 100 crore rupees ?

But take one thing for granted. You may like him or hate him, but you cannot ignore him.

Am I wrong ?

Akshay becomes cheer leader in Singapore!

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

How do you like it ?

You might have heard the famous saying 'Nothing is impossible' or even the word itself conveys 'I M Possible'. Yeah its correct. If we take the recent example of our Bollywood Khiladi, Akshay Kumar, he is enjoying IPL in Singapore. But he is not wearing mini skirts, worn by IPL cheerleaders.

Akshay, who is in Singapore for the shooting of Priyadarshan’s De Dana Dan, was shocked when he was told by the film crew that they are missing IPL matches as the hotel in which they are putting up does not have Set Max channel which is telecasting the IPL. How can one expect the Khiladi
to miss the cricket matches, that too IPL for which he has been the attraction last year ?

The Delhi daredevil took no time in contacting the owner of the hotel and ensured that the channel beamed at the earliest and became the real cheerleader to bring cheers on the faces of the entire crew. This is how you see the things. There are even some great things which can be imbibed
from cheerleaders of IPL and not just always connecting them with controversies.

Though this time he is not related with Delhi Daredevils officially, even
then he flew to Cape Town to enjoy the match between Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab on 19th April . Got, why he is connected with Delhi Daredevils, not only because he belongs to Delhi but being the daredevil.

Isn't he the real cheerleader, anyways ?

Shane ready to break legs in Bollywood!

Sunday, May 3, 2009

Do you know the benefits of having the owner of IPL cricket team a Bollywood celebrity ? Yes, you may get a chance to don a Bollywood hat.

Its not just that Bollywood has made cricket glamorous but even the cricketers have also added spice to the Bollywood movies. After successfully leading the Rajasthan Royals team in the IPL, Shane Warne is all set to make his debut in the dreamworld of Bollywood opposite Shilpa Shetty, the co-owner of the team. He is also joined by the fellow teammate Graeme Smith.

Interestingly, Shane and Smith are not the only ones who are having their first brush with the glitzy world of Indian cinema, as before this Australian pace spearhead Brett Lee, Mike Hussey and Jason Gillespie have also acted in a Bollywood sports movie, Victory.

Though its now the turn of Shilpa to learn on-field action from her team members, but at the same time it would definitely be useful for the cricketing duo to learn the acting technicalities from Shilpa. Great, they also believe in give and take policy.

Famous for his poster boy looks, dyed blonde hair and flaunting an ear stud, Warne has also been nicknamed as "Hollywood' by his fan following. So may be you can have a chance to see one of the greatest leg-break bowlers in the history of cricket, shaking his legs with Shilpa in the forthcoming movie.

Let's wait and watch buddies!
